UNIONBANK and TelUPay inks UMobile deal


UnionBank signed a contract with TelUPay, to enhance UnionBank's mobile banking services dubbed as UMobile.

The UnionBank – TelUPay UMobile agreement signing was held on March 7, 2011, at the UnionBank head office. Signatories were Ramon Duarte – Senior Vice President/Product Development, UnionBank; Edwin Bautista – Executive Vice President for Transaction Banking UnionBank, Teodoro Panganiban – Executive Vice President/Channel Management, Process and Quality Management, UnionBank; Adrian Ansell – Founder/Director, TelUPay PLC; Jose Luis Romero Salas – President, TelUPay (Philippines) Inc; and Perseverando Hernandez – Director TelUPay M.E.

UMobile is UnionBank's bid to offer an enhanced mobile banking experience through innovative features in the system. It offers banking convenience, anytime and anywhere through your mobile phone.

You can inquire about your UnionBank balance, manage your funds or transfer to another enrolled UnionBank account. You can also buy prepaid load from any network for yourself or someone else, pay bills and do a host of other services through your mobile phone.

To enjoy the benefits of UMobile, an account holder simply needs to enroll by calling UnionBank's Customer Service or sending a form through internet banking. A link will be sent to the account holder's mobile phone to download the application. The user then installs the application and he is ready to use UMobile.

The system has undergone a series of rigid testing having gone through a pilot stage and further enhancements to produce the desired solution and satisfy the business requirements as well as providing an aesthetic factor and a user-friendly interface which is essential for a positive client experience.

UMobile works on most java-enabled phone models available on the market, and very soon, will be available for iPhones and Android phones.
